Reaction from Muslims on Osama's death contributed by Saira Mirza

Muslims around the world must celebrate the death of Osama-Bin-Laden along with the civilized world. As President Obama said  “He was a mass murderer of Muslims,” the terror attacks in United States, London, Bali and
Africa were all master minded by him where thousand of people died. According to one survey in Pakistan alone 30,000 people have been killed in terrorist attacks so far.

At the time of 9/11 as the world watched no Muslim leader emerged to condemn the terror attacks. Many Muslim countries either rejoiced or blamed America for it's foreign policies, giving legitimacy to Bin-Laden's actions. He become the face of Islam, and Muslims around the world suffered because of that. Muslims living in the West were left defending themselves and their views. This is especially true of Muslim boys who are born in the West, even though they love and appreciative of the fact that they live in civilized world but even now the word 'home grown' is associated with them.

Now when this evil person is killed by the brave Americans in uniform, Muslims have been given another chance to show the world that their values do not lie in terrorism and that they are peaceful community. It is unfortunate for Muslims that they do not have a face that represents them, they must take it upon themselves  to prove that they love all humanity.

Even today the reaction is muted from the Arab world, and those who are speaking are either denying that he was killed or outraged at United States for not giving Osama a proper funeral. This is the same man who killed almost 3000 people on 9/11, the families of the victims of Worlds Trade Center are still trying to locate the remains of their loved ones. In that attacked people jumped out the 80th floor to save themselves from being incinerated. Where was the out rage at that time when non of the victims had proper burial, 'it is the punch in the gut to hear that Osama had proper burial,' said father of one victim today.
