Hillary Clinton Says Violence Must End in Syria

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton heads to the United Nations on Tuesday for three days of diplomacy aimed at breaking a stalemate at the UN Security Council over a resolution demanding a halt to violence in Syria.
Clinton said on Monday, "The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms the escalation of the Syrian regime's violent and brutal attacks on its own people,"
"The Security Council must act and make clear to the Syrian regime that the world community views its actions as a threat to peace and security," Clinton said. " The violence must end, so that a new period of democratic transition can begin."
In the last ten months, over 5,000 people have been killed in Bashar al Assad regime's brutal crackdown against anti-government unrest.
UN Security Council action condemning Assad's brutal crackdown has been blocked until now by Russia and China, which which vetoed a European-drafted Security Council resolution in October that would have condemned Syria for its bloody crackdown.

Facebook Haram According to Iranian Scholar

An Iranian Ayatollah has called Facebook un-Islamic and being a members is a sin, the ISNA news agency reprted on Saturday. In Iran, it is common for Clerics to be asked about their opinion, and when they answer it form a decree.

ISNA on Saturday broadcasted coverage of the response of Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi-Golpaygani, a senior cleric, to the question about Facebook and Iranian membership in the social networking service.

"Basically, going to any website which propagates immoralities and could weaken the religious belief is un-Islamic and not allowed, and membership in it is therefore haram (a sin)," the Ayatollah replied.
"Only the use of websites propagating religious criteria and not leading to any kind of ethical immoralities is of no problem," he added. 

  According to official figures released last October, 17 million Iranians have a Facebook account.

There are many Fatwas given by many Islamic Scholars which are either ridiculed or not followed. These so called Scholars should not issue any Fatwas and let people live their lives the way they want to. 

110 Christain Killed in Nigerian Christmas Attack

(AGI) Abuja - The provisional and unofficial death toll of Christmas attacks in Nigeria is 110. This is the second bloody and deadly Christmas in a row. The most significative attack took place in Saint Theresa's Catholic Church in Madala, in the state of Niger, around 45 kilometers from the federal Capital Abuja. A car bomb exploded after Christmas mass when churchgoers were heading outside the building. At least 35 people were killed and 50 people were wounded in the attack.
  Numerous people are in serious conditions. Boko Haram, an Islamic terrorist organization aiming at the extension of the Sharia law throughout the region has claimed many of these attacks.  

Egyptain Woman Stomped on and Dragged by it's Military

A woman in an Islamic dress was pulled along the ground by Egypt’s military police, her black abaya flies up revealing a blue bra, meanwhile men in uniform stomp on her in broad daylight. Her body is motionless, her pale torso exposed.

 On Tuesday protest grew as 10,000 women marched from Tahrir Square through downtown 'Tantawi stripped your women naked, come join us," the crowd chanted to passers-by, referring to Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, the head of the military council that has ruled Egypt since the Feb. 11 fall of Hosni Mubarak.

The military council issued an unusually strong statement of regret for what it called "violations" against women - a quick turnaround after days of dismissing the significance of the abuse.

No compromise to be made on Pak sovereignty: Gilani

Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has been making the same statement over and over again, that no compromise will be made on Pakistan's sovereignty. On hand Pakistan is one of the biggest recipient of US aid on the other hand Gilani on every turn undermines US by telling people of Pakistan that their sovereignty is under attack by America and he will protect them.

We want to keep a log of this statement and see how he is deceiving his people and fueling anti American sentiment. Pakistani do not see a cent of of aid given to Pakistan because it goes to the coffers of corrupt leaders but they do see US as an evil force because Gilani tells them they are under attack by it.

Dozens Killed in Suicide Attack in Afghanistan

Two suicide bomb attack killed dozens in Afghanistan on Tuesday. A suicide bomber detonated a bomb on Shia Shrine on Ashura. 

The Kabul bomb was the deadliest in the capital since 2008, and punctured any lingering sense of optimism from a conference on Monday where Western allies made firm but not specific promises to support Afghanistan after troops leave in 2014.

Bodies and blood were scattered down a street in the heart of old Kabul where a crowd of hundreds had gathered to mark the festival of Ashura, with chanting, and self-flagellation. At least 55 were killed and 160 wounded, some critically.
